Terms of Service
Summary
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Zunii. They govern your access to and use of the Zunii mobile application. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use Zunii.
1. Definitions
Throughout these Terms, the following definitions apply:
- "Service" or "Zunii" means the Zunii mobile application, website, and all related services, features, content, and functionality.
- "User," "you," or "your" means any individual who accesses or uses the Service.
- "We," "us," or "our" means Abhishek Olkha, operator of Zunii, and any successors or assigns.
- "Account" means the registered account you create to access the Service.
- "Content" means any text, images, photos, messages, information, or other materials submitted, posted, or transmitted through the Service.
- "User Content" means Content created, submitted, or shared by Users through the Service.
- "Connection" means a mutual relationship established between two Users within the Service.
- "Ephemeral Chat" means a time-limited conversation between matched Users that is automatically deleted upon expiration.
- "Community" or "Community Feed" means the public, app-wide feed within the Service where Users may post text and images and react to others' posts, visible to all Users.
- "Community Content" means any post, image, caption, or reaction a User publishes to the Community Feed. Community Content is a form of User Content and is governed by all provisions of these Terms applicable to Content.
- "Community Guidelines" means our rules for acceptable behaviour, available at zunii.app/community-guidelines.
- "Privacy Policy" means our data handling practices, available at zunii.app/privacy-policy.
2. Agreement to Terms
2.1 These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Abhishek Olkha ("Zunii," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the Zunii mobile application (the "App").
2.2 By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines, all of which are incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to any provision of these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the Service and delete your Account.
2.3 Changes to These Terms. We may modify, amend, or change these Terms from time to time (a "Change"). When we do, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Where a Change materially affects your rights, we will give you reasonable advance notice (for example, through an in-app notification and, where appropriate, by email) at least 14 days before it takes effect, and we may ask you to accept the updated Terms before you continue. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically so you always know where you stand. Your continued use of the Service after a Change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a Change, you must stop using Zunii, and you may delete your Account at any time.
2.4 By using the Service, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, including notices, agreements, and disclosures. You agree that all agreements, notices, and communications we provide electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
3. Eligibility
Age Restriction
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an Account or use any part of the Service. By using Zunii, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. We actively monitor for and remove Accounts of Users who appear to be under 18.
3.1 Age Requirement. The Service is intended solely for Users who are 18 years of age or older, in every country where it is available. By creating an Account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. We apply a date-of-birth age check during registration, enforced on your device and on our servers, and we do not permit Accounts for anyone under 18. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for this type of service, that higher age applies to you. We reserve the right to require additional age verification at any time. If we have reason to believe you are under 18 (or under any higher applicable minimum age), we will suspend your Account pending review and may delete it and all associated data.
3.2 Legal Capacity. You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you are using the Service on behalf of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3.3 Compliance with Laws. You represent that your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.
3.4 Restrictions. You may not use the Service if:
- You are under the applicable minimum age;
- You have been previously suspended, banned, or removed from the Service;
- You are prohibited from using the Service under applicable law;
- You are a convicted sex offender or are required to register as a sex offender under any sex offender registry;
- You have been convicted of a felony or any crime involving violence, fraud, or sexual misconduct; or
- You are located in a jurisdiction where use of the Service is prohibited by law.
4. Account Registration & Security
4.1 Registration. To use Zunii, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information, including your real first name, gender, country, and date of birth. You may register using one of the following authentication methods:
- Sign in with Apple;
- Sign in with Google; or
- Email and password (with email verification).
4.2 Accurate Information. You agree to provide truthful, accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to maintain and update such information to keep it accurate. Providing false, misleading, or outdated information constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of your Account.
4.3 Account Security. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for all activities that occur under your Account. You agree to:
- Create a strong, unique password (if using email authentication);
- Not share your credentials with any third party;
- Notify us immediately at support@zunii.app of any unauthorized access or use of your Account; and
- Accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your Account, whether or not authorized by you.
4.4 Single Account Policy. Each individual may maintain only one Account. Creating multiple Accounts (including to circumvent enforcement actions, manipulate the matching system, or for any other purpose) is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent suspension of all associated Accounts.
4.5 Profile Requirements. Your profile must include:
- Your real first name (displayed as initials to other Users);
- Your accurate date of birth or age (must reflect the applicable minimum age or older);
- A genuine profile photo that clearly shows your face; and
- Accurate gender and country information.
4.6 No Transfer. Your Account is personal to you and may not be transferred, sold, or assigned to any other person or entity.
5. License to Use the Service
5.1 Limited License. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service on a personal device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
5.2 Restrictions. You may not:
- Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the Service;
- Reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service;
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise transfer the Service to any third party;
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Service;
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent;
- Use any automated means (including bots, scrapers, spiders, crawlers, or similar tools) to access or interact with the Service;
- Access or use the Service in a manner intended to avoid incurring fees or exceeding usage limits;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable burden on the Service or its underlying infrastructure; or
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security-related features of the Service.
5.3 Revocation. We may revoke this license if you breach these Terms, or for other reasons described in Section 13.2. For EU/UK users, we will provide reasonable notice and explanation except where immediate action is necessary for safety or legal compliance.
5.4 Your Content and the License You Grant Us. You retain ownership of the Content you create. To operate the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize or re-encode images), publish, publicly display, and distribute your Content, solely for the purpose of operating, providing, securing, and improving the Service. For private chats this licence is limited to delivering your Content to your chat participant. For Community Content, you acknowledge and agree that your posts, images, captions, and reactions are published publicly to all Users of the App, and this licence extends to displaying that Content to all Users while it remains on the Service. This licence ends when the Content is deleted from our active systems (for example, when a community post ages out of the feed, or when you delete your Account), except that (a) we may retain backup or log copies for a limited period, (b) copies other Users have already cached on their own devices are outside our control, and (c) we may retain Content where required for legal compliance or safety (see Section 10 and our Privacy Policy).
5.5 Your Content Warranties. You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights to the Content you submit, and that your Content does not infringe the intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights of any third party and does not violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any applicable law. You are solely responsible for your Content.
6. User Conduct & Responsibilities
6.1 General Standards. You agree to use the Service in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other Users.
6.2 Affirmative Obligations. You agree to:
- Treat all Users with respect and courtesy;
- Communicate honestly and in good faith;
- Respect the privacy and personal boundaries of other Users;
- Promptly report violations of these Terms or Community Guidelines;
- Use the Service only for its intended purpose of authentic personal connection; and
- Comply with our Community Guidelines.
6.3 Prohibited Conduct. You agree NOT to:
- Harass, bully, intimidate, stalk, or threaten any User;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation;
- Use the Service to transmit false, misleading, or deceptive information;
- Engage in any behaviour that constitutes or facilitates a criminal offence;
- Contact or attempt to contact any User who has blocked you or asked you to stop;
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose, including advertising, promotion, or solicitation, without our prior written consent;
- Collect, harvest, or extract information about other Users without their consent;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service;
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code to the Service;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or any other systems or networks connected to the Service; or
- Use the Service in any manner not expressly permitted by these Terms.
6.4 Interactions with Other Users.
No Background Checks
ZUNII DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS, IDENTITY VERIFICATION BEYOND BASIC REGISTRATION, OR SCREENING OF USERS. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY WHEN INTERACTING WITH OTHER USERS. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND EXERCISING CAUTION, GOOD JUDGMENT, AND APPROPRIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN ALL INTERACTIONS, AND NEVER SHARING PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION (PHONE NUMBER, HOME ADDRESS, FINANCIAL INFORMATION) WITH PEOPLE YOU HAVE JUST MET.
7. Prohibited Content & Activities
Zero Tolerance: Immediate Permanent Suspension
The following will result in immediate and permanent Account termination without prior warning. We may also report violations to law enforcement and relevant authorities.
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Any content that depicts, promotes, or facilitates child exploitation or abuse in any form.
- Child Grooming: Any attempt to establish inappropriate contact with minors or any behaviour intended to sexualise, exploit, or endanger a minor.
- Credible Threats of Violence: Direct, specific, and credible threats of physical violence against any individual or group.
- Promotion of Self-Harm or Suicide: Content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders.
- Terrorism & Violent Extremism: Content that glorifies, promotes, recruits for, or provides material support to terrorist organisations or violent extremist ideologies.
We report all identified CSAM and child exploitation material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and to applicable law enforcement agencies worldwide.
7.1 Sexual Content
The following is strictly prohibited:
- Pornographic, sexually explicit, or obscene images, videos, or messages;
- Unsolicited sexual content, advances, or requests;
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including "revenge porn," deepfakes, or sextortion;
- Sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, or commercial sexual services;
- Any sexual content involving or depicting minors (zero tolerance); and
- Solicitation of prostitution or escort services.
7.2 Hate Speech & Discrimination
Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics is prohibited, including but not limited to:
- Race, colour, ethnicity, or national origin;
- Religion, religious beliefs, or lack thereof;
- Sex, gender, or gender identity;
- Sexual orientation;
- Disability (physical or mental);
- Age;
- Caste, immigration status, or veteran status; or
- Any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
7.3 Violence & Harmful Content
- Graphic depictions of violence, gore, or bodily harm;
- Glorification or promotion of violence against any person or group;
- Instructions or guidance for creating weapons, explosives, or other instruments of harm; and
- Content that encourages or incites dangerous or harmful activities.
7.4 Illegal Activities
- Sale, purchase, promotion, or facilitation of illegal drugs or controlled substances;
- Sale, purchase, or promotion of weapons or ammunition in violation of applicable law;
- Fraud, scams, phishing, or financial crimes;
- Money laundering or financing of criminal activities;
- Human trafficking or forced labour; and
- Any other activity prohibited under applicable law.
7.5 Spam & Deceptive Content
- Spam, bulk messages, chain letters, or unsolicited commercial communications;
- Phishing, social engineering, or attempts to obtain sensitive information through deception;
- Distribution of malware, viruses, or malicious links;
- Fake profiles, catfishing, or impersonation;
- Deceptive or misleading claims about the Service; and
- Manipulation of Service features or mechanisms (including the matching or reporting systems).
8. Service Features & Functionality
8.1 Matching System. Zunii connects Users based on selected filters (age, gender, country). We do not guarantee the availability, frequency, or quality of matches. We are not responsible for the behaviour, Content, or actions of other Users. All matching is subject to availability and our safety systems.
8.2 Ephemeral Chats
How Ephemeral Chats Work
- Initial chats have a 21-minute timer that begins when both Users are connected.
- Both Users must mutually agree to extend the chat to continue.
- Extended chats last an additional 60 minutes.
- During extended chats, Users may mutually agree to add each other as Connections.
- All chat data (messages, metadata) is automatically and permanently deleted when the chat timer expires or when either User disconnects, unless a Connection is established.
8.3 Privacy Features. To protect User privacy:
- Users are initially identified only by their initials;
- Full names are disclosed only at the User's discretion;
- Profile photos are disclosed only at the User's discretion; and
- You share personal information with other Users entirely at your own risk. Zunii is not responsible for how other Users use information you choose to disclose.
8.4 Screenshot Protection. In chats, the Service attempts to block screenshots and screen recording where the platform allows it (on Android, capture is prevented; on iOS, chat content is hidden from the app switcher and screen capture). Where a capture cannot be fully blocked, the Service may notify both participants that a screenshot was taken. This protection depends on the device, operating system, and platform capabilities, may not function in all cases, and is provided on an "as-is" basis without warranty of completeness or reliability. It cannot prevent another person from photographing the screen with a separate device.
8.5 Connections. If both Users mutually agree during an extended chat, they may add each other as Connections. Connection chats do not have time limits and permit image sharing. You can optionally share your full name or profile picture with a Connection using the in-app sharing feature.
8.6 Image Sharing. Image sharing is available only in Connection chats. All shared images:
- Are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours of upload;
- Are subject to all content policies in these Terms and Community Guidelines;
- Are encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols;
- Are accessible via non-guessable URLs; we cannot prevent recipients from saving or screenshotting images before deletion; and
- Must not contain prohibited content as defined in Section 7.
8.7 Community Feed. The Service includes a public, app-wide Community Feed where Users may share posts with the entire Zunii community.
The Community Feed Is Public
- Public by nature. Every post, image, caption, and reaction you publish to the Community Feed is visible to all Users of the App, not only people you have matched or connected with. Do not post anything you would not want to be public.
- Identity. Community posts are attributed to your initials and profile photo only. Your full name is never attached to a community post.
- What you can post. A community post is a single image with an optional caption, or a text post. Other formats (for example, GIFs, polls, links as posts, voice notes, or replies/threads) are not supported.
- No editing or deletion by you. Once published, community posts cannot be edited or deleted by the author. Posts remain visible until they age out of the feed under our retention limits, or are removed by us or through account deletion. Before posting, make sure you are comfortable with the content remaining public.
- Retention. We retain only the most recent community posts and images on our servers; older content is automatically removed as new content arrives, and an image that has been removed from storage will show an "image no longer available" placeholder. Copies already cached on other Users' devices are outside our control.
- Eligibility to post. You may not post or react in the Community Feed while your Account is suspended or in a cooldown period. You may still read the feed.
- All policies apply. Community Content is subject to all content rules in Section 7, the Community Guidelines, and applicable law. Any User can report a community post; reported content is reviewed and, where it violates our rules, removed and the author actioned.
8.8 Anti-Abuse Controls. To protect the community, the Service applies rate limits and other automated anti-abuse controls to actions such as messaging, matching, reporting, community posting and reactions, and image uploads. We may throttle, limit, or block activity we determine to be abusive or automated.
8.9 Service Availability. We strive to maintain continuous availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
9. Subscriptions, Advertisements & Credits
9.1 Zunii Premium Subscriptions
Zunii offers optional premium subscriptions ("Zunii Premium") on a monthly or yearly basis, providing additional features including priority matching, increased connection limits, unlimited match filters, and an ad-free experience. By subscribing, you agree:
- Subscriptions are processed exclusively through Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS). We do not accept alternative payment methods for subscriptions.
- The price, billing period, and included features are clearly displayed on the subscription screen before purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You may cancel at any time through your device's subscription management. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then. Uninstalling the App does NOT cancel your subscription.
- Free trials, where offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand. Before any free trial begins, you will be shown: (a) the length of the trial period; (b) the subscription price charged after the trial ends; and (c) how to cancel before being charged.
- If your subscription lapses, your account is downgraded to the free tier. We do not delete your data. You retain your profile, connections, and chat history. Premium-only features become inaccessible until you resubscribe.
9.2 How to Cancel
- Android: Open Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Zunii → Cancel subscription.
- iOS: Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Zunii → Cancel Subscription.
9.3 Restore Purchases
If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your subscription by tapping "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen or in Settings → Account → Subscription.
9.4 Premium Features
Zunii Premium may include (subject to change):
- Increased daily match limit;
- Additional active Connections;
- Priority matching;
- Unlimited gender and country filters; and
- Other features as we may introduce.
9.5 Refunds
Generally, all charges for purchases are nonrefundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods, except as set forth below or as required by applicable law.
US State-Specific Refund Rights
For subscribers residing in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin:
YOU, THE BUYER, MAY CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, WITHOUT PENALTY OR OBLIGATION, AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT OF THE THIRD BUSINESS DAY FOLLOWING THE DATE YOU SUBSCRIBED (EXCLUDING SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS). IN THE EVENT THAT YOU DIE BEFORE THE END OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD, YOUR ESTATE SHALL BE ENTITLED TO A REFUND OF THAT PORTION OF ANY PAYMENT YOU HAD MADE FOR YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WHICH IS ALLOCABLE TO THE PERIOD AFTER YOUR DEATH. IN THE EVENT THAT YOU BECOME DISABLED (SUCH THAT YOU ARE UNABLE TO USE ZUNII) BEFORE THE END OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD, YOU SHALL BE ENTITLED TO A REFUND OF THAT PORTION OF ANY PAYMENT YOU HAD MADE FOR YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WHICH IS ALLOCABLE TO THE PERIOD AFTER YOUR DISABILITY BY PROVIDING THE COMPANY NOTICE AT support@zunii.app.
Subscribers Outside the United States
Zunii Premium is offered only as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Subscribers are entitled to a refund of the price of the subscription (minus the value of any portion of the subscription already used at the date the refund is requested) if requested within the first 14 days after the subscription starts.
There are no refunds for subscription renewals. Suspended or blocked members are not entitled to refunds.
How to request a refund:
- Apple (iOS): Refunds are handled by Apple. Go to Settings → tap your name → Purchase History → find the transaction → Report a Problem. You can also visit Apple Support.
- Google Play (Android): Go to the Google Play Store app → select your order history → find the transaction → select "Report a Problem" and submit your refund request.
- All other inquiries: Contact support@zunii.app with your order details.
9.6 Rewarded Video Advertisements
Zunii offers optional rewarded video advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Key terms:
- Watching a rewarded ad is always your choice. You are never required to watch an ad to access core app functionality (chatting, matching, connections).
- Rewarded ads are clearly labelled as advertisements.
- Upon successful completion of a rewarded ad, you receive credits (boost credits, filter credits, or daily extension credits) as disclosed before viewing.
- Frequency caps and minimum time intervals apply between ads to prevent excessive viewing.
- Ad content is determined by Google AdMob and is subject to Google's advertising policies. We do not control specific ad content.
- By watching ads, you agree to Google's Privacy Policy regarding data collected by the ad SDK.
9.7 Credits System
Credits earned through rewarded ads or included with Premium can be used for:
- Boost Credits: Temporary priority in the matching queue;
- Filter Credits: Unlock gender or country preference filters for a match; and
- Daily Extension Credits: Additional daily matches beyond your tier limit.
Credits have no monetary value, cannot be transferred, cannot be exchanged for cash, and expire upon Account deletion. Credits are not refundable.
9.8 Account Auto-Delete
To protect your privacy, you may set an auto-delete period of 30, 60, or 90 days (default: 90 days). If you do not open the App for your chosen period, your Account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. You will receive a warning as you approach the danger zone (25% of your chosen period remaining). Opening the App resets the timer.
9.9 Connection Auto-Expiry
Connections automatically expire after 90 days of inactivity (no messages sent by either party). Sending a message resets the 90-day timer. When a Connection expires, it and all associated chat data are permanently deleted.
10. Safety, Reporting & Moderation
10.1 Reporting. You can report any User or content that violates these Terms using the in-app Report button, available on every chat screen and user profile, and by long-pressing any post in the Community Feed. The same reporting and enforcement system handles reports from chats, profiles, and the community feed. Report categories include:
- Critical Safety: Child safety, credible violent threats, self-harm promotion, terrorism;
- Harmful Behaviour: Harassment, sexual content, hate speech, illegal activity; and
- Community Violations: Spam, scams, impersonation, inappropriate profiles.
10.2 How Reports Are Handled.
- Critical Safety reports (child safety, violent threats, self-harm, terrorism): Filing the report immediately blocks the reported User from you and ends any active chat. These reports are queued at the highest priority for review, and protective restrictions (a cooldown or, on corroboration, suspension) are applied through the enforcement ladder described below. Reports that a User is under 18 result in suspension of the reported Account pending review.
- Harmful Behaviour reports (harassment, sexual content, hate speech): Reviewed on a priority basis; restrictions may be applied as the enforcement ladder escalates.
- Community Violation reports (spam, scams, impersonation, inappropriate profiles): Reviewed and actioned through the standard enforcement ladder.
10.3 Automatic Actions. Filing a report against a User automatically:
- Blocks the reported User from matching with you;
- Ends any active chat between you and the reported User; and
- May apply temporary restrictions to the reported User pending review.
10.4 Enforcement Ladder. Enforcement is decided by a server-authoritative system based on the category of the violation and the number of distinct Users who report the same Account within a rolling time window. As reports accumulate, the response escalates:
- Issue a warning (notice only, no restriction);
- Apply a temporary cooldown that pauses matching for a set period;
- Suspend the Account; or
- Report the User to NCMEC and/or law enforcement where the law requires it.
To protect against false or retaliatory reports, a report from a single User never results in a suspension on its own; suspension for a given category requires reports from two or more distinct Users (child-safety reports are treated with the greatest severity). Child Sexual Abuse Material and credible child-safety reports are escalated and preserved as described in Section 10.9.
10.5 Blocking. You may block any User at any time. Blocked Users cannot match with you, contact you through the Service, or view your profile. Blocked Users are not notified that they have been blocked.
10.6 Anti-Abuse Controls. The Service applies rate limits and automated anti-abuse controls to messaging, matching, reporting, and image uploads, and may throttle or block activity it determines to be abusive or automated.
10.7 Confidentiality of Reports. All reports are confidential. The reported User will not be informed of the identity of the reporting User.
10.8 False Reports. Submitting false, frivolous, or malicious reports is a violation of these Terms and may result in enforcement action against the reporting User.
10.9 Content Moderation. Outgoing text messages are checked on your device against a filter of severe prohibited terms (such as hate slurs and child-exploitation terms) before they are sent; messages that match are blocked from sending. We do not otherwise proactively read or store the content of your private text messages, which is reviewed only when a report is filed by a User through our in-app reporting system. Image sharing is restricted to mutual Connections, and chat images are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of sending; images are reviewed by us when reported. Where we obtain actual knowledge of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), we remove it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
10.10 Liability. We are not liable for content posted by other Users. We are committed to acting on reports promptly and maintaining a safe environment.
11. Content & Intellectual Property
11.1 Your Content: Ownership
You retain all ownership rights in User Content you create and share through the Service. Zunii does not claim ownership of your User Content.
11.2 License Grant to Zunii
By submitting, posting, or transmitting User Content through the Service, you grant Zunii a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, transmit, and display such User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service (including delivering messages, displaying profiles to matched users, and performing content moderation). This licence terminates when you delete your User Content or your Account, except as required for legal compliance or pending safety investigations.
11.3 Representations
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to submit your User Content;
- Your User Content does not infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third-party intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws; and
- Your User Content does not contain any prohibited content as defined in Section 7.
11.4 No Obligation to Monitor
We have no obligation to monitor, review, or edit User Content. However, we reserve the right to review, remove, or disable access to any User Content at our sole discretion, for any reason, without notice.
11.5 Zunii's Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, code, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, data compilations, and all other elements (collectively, "Zunii Materials"), are owned by or licensed to Zunii and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. The Zunii name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Zunii. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works based on our content without our prior written consent.
11.6 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, ideas, or recommendations regarding the Service ("Feedback"), you assign to us all rights in such Feedback and agree that we may use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such Feedback without restriction, obligation, or compensation to you.
11.7 Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that any Content available through the Service infringes your copyright, please submit a notice to admin@zunii.app with the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
- Identification of the infringing material and its location on the Service;
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, email);
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf; and
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will terminate the Accounts of Users who are determined to be repeat infringers of third-party copyrights.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Key privacy facts:
- Your date of birth is never stored; only your computed age is kept.
- Chat images are deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
- Chat messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Outgoing messages are filtered on-device for severe prohibited terms; we do not otherwise proactively read your private messages.
- You control your activity visibility with Ghost Mode.
- You can delete your account at any time.
13. Account Deletion & Termination
13.1 Termination by You
You can delete your Account at any time through any of the following methods:
- In-App: Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete Account
- Website: zunii.app/account/delete
- Email: privacy@zunii.app
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. When you delete your Account:
- Your profile, personal information, and settings are permanently deleted;
- All your chat history and messages are permanently deleted;
- All your Connections are removed;
- All your images (profile and chat) are permanently deleted from our servers;
- Your subscription is not automatically cancelled. You must cancel it separately through your device's subscription management.
Data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
13.2 Termination or Suspension by Us
We may suspend or terminate your Account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms, Privacy Policy, or Community Guidelines;
- Receipt of multiple verified reports;
- Engaging in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other Users, third parties, or the Service;
- Engaging in illegal or fraudulent activity;
- Upon request by law enforcement or government agencies; or
- For any other reason at our sole discretion.
13.3 Deletion for Suspended or Restricted Accounts
Accounts that are suspended or in a cooldown period may have restricted self-service deletion within the App. However, you may still exercise your legal right to data deletion at any time by contacting privacy@zunii.app. We may retain limited data where legally required (e.g., for ongoing investigations, legal obligations, or to enforce our Terms), but we will inform you of any such retention and its legal basis. Suspended accounts that are not appealed are automatically deleted after 90 days.
13.4 Effect of Termination
Upon termination or suspension:
- Your right to access and use the Service ceases immediately;
- We may delete your Account data (subject to legal retention requirements, pending reports, and ongoing investigations);
- You remain liable for any obligations incurred prior to termination; and
- All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18.
13.5 Appeals
If you believe your Account was suspended or terminated in error, you may submit an appeal to appeals@zunii.app. We will review appeals and respond within 30 days. Appeals are not available for zero-tolerance violations as described in Section 7.

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS OUR LIABILITY AND AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
14.1 THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ZUNII DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
14.2 WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, ZUNII DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:
- THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE;
- THE RESULTS OBTAINED FROM USE OF THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE;
- YOU WILL FIND A MATCH OR MAKE CONNECTIONS;
- OTHER USERS' INFORMATION IS ACCURATE OR TRUTHFUL;
- CONTENT SHARED BY OTHER USERS WILL BE APPROPRIATE OR LAWFUL; OR
- ANY ERRORS IN THE SERVICE WILL BE CORRECTED.
14.3 User Interactions. ZUNII IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT, WHETHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE, OF ANY USER OF THE SERVICE. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. WE DO NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS OR IDENTITY VERIFICATION OF USERS BEYOND BASIC REGISTRATION. YOU AGREE TO EXERCISE CAUTION, GOOD JUDGMENT, AND APPROPRIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN INTERACTING WITH OTHER USERS.
14.4 Third-Party Services. THE SERVICE MAY CONTAIN LINKS TO OR INTEGRATIONS WITH THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES, SERVICES, OR CONTENT. ZUNII DOES NOT ENDORSE, CONTROL, OR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, AND YOUR USE OF SUCH SERVICES IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
14.5 No Professional Advice. NOTHING IN THE SERVICE CONSTITUTES PROFESSIONAL, LEGAL, MEDICAL, FINANCIAL, OR OTHER ADVICE. YOU SHOULD CONSULT APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONALS BEFORE MAKING DECISIONS BASED ON INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE.
15. Limitation of Liability
15.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ZUNII, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, OR SERVICE PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:
- YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE;
- ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY USER OR THIRD PARTY ON OR THROUGH THE SERVICE;
- ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE;
- UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT; OR
- ANY OTHER MATTER RELATED TO THE SERVICE,
WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.
15.2 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO ZUNII IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $100.00).
15.3 NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION. THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION APPLY EVEN IF ANY REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Zunii, Abhishek Olkha, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your access to or use of the Service;
- Your violation of these Terms;
- Your User Content;
- Your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other proprietary right;
- Your violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation; or
- Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party.
This indemnification obligation will survive the termination or expiration of these Terms and your use of the Service.
17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
17.1 Governing Law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
17.2 Informal Resolution First. Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at support@zunii.app and give us a genuine opportunity to resolve the matter. We will try to resolve your concern within 60 days of receiving it.
17.3 Jurisdiction. Subject to Section 17.4, the courts at Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. For matters concerning the App distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you may also pursue available remedies through the relevant app store.
17.4 Your Consumer Rights. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any mandatory statutory right you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence. If you are a consumer in India, you retain your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including the right to approach the appropriate consumer dispute redressal forum. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, Australia, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and those mandatory protections continue to apply regardless of the governing law stated above.
17.5 Injunctive Relief. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property rights or confidentiality obligations.
17.6 Grievances (India). For complaints under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, our Grievance Officer's contact details are published in our Privacy Policy.
18. Regional Terms
18.1 Australia
Zunii is an 18+ Service and is not available to anyone under 18 in Australia. We apply a date-of-birth age check at registration and reserve the right to require additional verification. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee that applies to you under the Australian Consumer Law.
18.2 European Union & United Kingdom
If you are an EU or UK consumer, nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights, including mandatory withdrawal rights. You retain the right to bring claims in the courts of your country of residence.
18.3 United Kingdom (Online Safety Act)
To comply with the UK Online Safety Act 2023, we operate: (a) an in-app report button on every conversation; (b) a user blocking function; (c) content moderation processes to detect and remove illegal content as defined under UK law, including CSAM, terrorism content, and content facilitating serious crime.
18.4 India (IT Rules Compliance)
We comply with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. As a social media intermediary operating in India: we publish these Terms and Community Guidelines prominently; we provide an in-app grievance mechanism; we will remove unlawful content upon receiving actual knowledge through a court order or government notification; for CSAM or content threatening national security, we will act within 24 hours of receiving notice. See our Privacy Policy for Grievance Officer details.
18.5 Middle East (SA, AE, QA, KW, OM, BH, JO)
In addition to the Community Guidelines, users in these countries agree that the following additional standards apply due to local law:
- Content promoting or depicting sexual activity or intimate relations between unmarried individuals is prohibited.
- Content depicting, promoting, or supporting LGBTQ+ themes is prohibited in countries where such content is illegal.
- Content critical of government institutions, national leadership, or religious authorities may be illegal under local law.
We reserve the right to restrict access to specific features or content for users in these regions to comply with local law. We comply with lawful government content removal orders.
18.6 NCMEC Reporting (United States)
Any content that constitutes Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) will be immediately removed and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
19. General Provisions
19.1 Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Zunii regarding the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties.
19.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held by a court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
19.3 No Waiver. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Zunii.
19.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights or obligations hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms or any rights or obligations hereunder without restriction, including to any affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets. In the event of such assignment, we will notify you and your data will continue to be protected under substantially similar privacy terms, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
19.5 Force Majeure. We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, pandemics, internet disruption, strikes, or shortages of transportation, facilities, fuel, energy, labour, or materials.
19.6 Notices. We may provide notices to you through the Service, via email to the address associated with your Account, or by other reasonable means. You may provide notices to us by emailing admin@zunii.app. Notice shall be deemed given upon receipt.
19.7 Relationship of the Parties. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as creating a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and Zunii.
19.8 Export Compliance. You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations, and you will not directly or indirectly export, re-export, or transfer the Service to any country, entity, or person prohibited by such laws.
19.9 Headings. The section headings in these Terms are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect.
19.10 Survival. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification obligations, and dispute resolution provisions.
